SHERLENE LOCKE:

A butt-kicking P.I. with a big heart and an ego to match. The adopted daughter of two retired career cops, Sher was raised to stand up for what is right and fight against injustice.

Trained in the various martial arts since she was five, Sher learned from the best-her parents and the instructors of the Victorian Police Academy. With both parents working as detectives at the East Melbourne police station for the better part of their careers, Sher grew up considering many of the officers as her default family.

After a brutal attack, Sher is found dead in the aisles of the State Library of Victoria … Wait, what? … No, she’s found nearly dead in the aisles. Okay maybe she died for a short time, but big deal! People die on the operating table and are brought back all the time. It just took her a little longer to come back.

Of course, it is puzzling that her strength and speed seem to be a little enhanced, and it does appear that she may be having some kind of visions, but she’s pretty sure she’s just imagining it.

Anyway, that’s a problem for another day. Right now, her priority is to find the bastard that killed her!… No, no … almost killed her.

‘Sherlene Locke’ (for want of a better title), is one of my favourite character’s so far, and I am thoroughly enjoying her butt kicking ways. It is slow going, she’s not being very cooperative, but I do hope to finish her story by early next year, and hopefully get it in the bookstores by mid-year 2026.
